Guido Zurli

Guido Zurli was an Italian film director and screenwriter known for his work across various genres, including Spaghetti Westerns, comedies, and adventure films. Born in Foiano della Chiana, Tuscany, he began his career as an assistant director and screenwriter in the 1950s. Zurli made his directorial debut with Il terrore dei mari (1961), an adventure film set in the pirate era. He directed several Spaghetti Westerns, such as El Cisco (1966) and The Man Who Killed Billy the Kid (1967). Zurli's versatility allowed him to work in various international markets, including Turkey, where he directed films like Kara Murat: Fatih'ın Fermanı (1973). His career spanned over four decades, contributing significantly to genre cinema. Zurli passed away in Rome in 2009 at the age of 80.
